The Broken Pieces let the most light in…

Hi there!

For starters, my name is Jessica and I’m so glad you’re here!

I am here for the doubters, the lost, and the broken. I want to remind you there is no decision you cannot overcome, no brokenness that cannot be healed, and no adversity you cannot grow from.

I understand… because I have been there many, many times.

I have walked through a lifetime of profound personal grief and loss. I have experienced immense heartbreak in many forms, including the sudden loss of my dear Brother to addiction in 2019, the passing of my estranged father from COVID-19 in 2020, and the long, painful goodbye as the caregiver to my sweet Momma from the rare progressive neurodegenerative brain disease, PSP, in 2023.

These experiences changed me—but they did not break me.

I have slowly healed the cracks in my heart by letting God’s light in, planting seeds of hope, and witnessing the most vibrant flowers grow right in the middle of life’s darkest seasons. It’s a daily wrestle—but one that is always worth the victory.

I am so grateful to be a proud wife and mama to our inspiring daughter, creative son, and sweet puppy, Finley.

Now, I feel a deep calling to share my story and to help others do the same—to rise, to heal, and to rediscover the parts of themselves that are still waiting to shine.

Let’s discover and celebrate this thing called life, together!

I find myself staring at this tree in our backyard often. I’m amazed at its resilience. Its path was not straight like the others. It must’ve had some dead ends, some trial and error, some difficulty finding its way. It didn’t grow with ease, but it kept growing. When I was a child I was…

There is Something in the Water…

What do you do when you look around and it feels like the world is on fire? What do you tell your children when you can no longer tell who the good guys are? How do you cope when your mind can’t process the word war, as your body remembers this heartache of your big…

Grief is…

Grief is shocking, as if the air is taken from your lungs as you collapse to the ground at the words being spoken to you. …God is there, picking you up again. Grief is helpless, as if you are screaming from the deepest part of your soul, but no one hears you. …God is there,…
